It's still hot in Central Texas but Camp Fire is gearing up for some exciting fall programs as we say goodbye to a successful summer camp season.​

Camp Fire Afterschool

 

Camp Fire Afterschool is a nurturing, constructive, and fun environment for young people to discover their spark - their unique skills and passions - and adopt a growth mindset. Camp Fire believes in the power of nature to awaken a child's senses, curiosity and spark an ongoing desire to learn.Throughout the semester, youth learn outdoor skills and environmental stewardship principles. Our programs encourage personal growth by incorporating THRIVE methodology, an evidence-based approach to youth development through a Social Emotional Learning framework.

 

This fall, we are pleased to be back in the Eanes School District, where our Clubs program will be offering Archery on four campuses. We will also be offering nature/environmental Club programming at Austin Trinity Episcopal School and several AISD campuses. We look forward to these new and renewed partnerships to bring Camp Fire to a new generation of kids!

*Outdoor Adventures

​

Backpacking Club: Release yourself from the complexity of everyday life by becoming immersed in the beauty of nature, and the simplicity of living with only a backpack’s worth of essentials. Learn special skills with fellow adventurers such as how to kindle a fire, tie knots, set up shelter, and prepare meals over a campfire, all while ‘Leaving No Trace.’ Most trips are weekends and suitable for both beginners and more experienced campers, however, there are also more advanced backpacking trips which are scheduled for a week or longer.

Year-Round Camp Programs: When school is out of session, join Camp Fire’s Camp Programs to enrich your child’s involvement in the outdoor world. Camp programs provide a safe haven for children where they can participate in active outdoor play and learning during regular school hours, while also making friends with other kids who have similar environmental interests. Children will be guided by our knowledgeable staff members as they gain valuable life and adventure skills through direct interaction with nature and the environment.
